BASS STREET, Flinders
COMPLETED April 2019
INSPIRATION: The site inspired the desire to create a home that nestled into the coastal environment and complemented the culture and community of Flinders. The location was ideal for a traditional timber beach house that sat comfortably amongst the Mornington Peninsula’s tea tree landscape. It was important that the home suited someone wanted to upgrade from a smaller home or downsize from a larger property, with a functional quality that made it comfortable to live in all year round.
TARGET MARKET: Retirees looking for a permanent house to call home in a beautiful coastal location. A property that was extremely luxurious yet easy to maintain.
LOCATION: Located within walking distance of Flinders village and in the company of beautiful homes, the site is surrounded by beautiful native vegetation ensuring the home feel established and melds into the surroundings.
DESIGN INTENT: As a builder and developer we are always keen to be innovative and cutting edge whilst honouring the local environment. Mornington Peninsula is well recognised for its beautiful timber beach homes, however we wanted to take this design aesthetic to a whole new level. We wanted to create a home that young people were inspired by, middle aged people loved and that felt familiar to empty nesters and retirees. It was important to construct home of incredible quality that worked in harmony with the site and the location – a house that immediately felt like home. Even with the complexities of the build and the modern fixtures and fittings that we specified, the result is simple yet very luxurious. A home with universal appeal.
